How to Use the Age Calculator
Our Age Calculator is designed specifically for users in Nepal and around the world. It seamlessly handles both the Gregorian calendar (AD) and the Bikram Sambat calendar (BS).
- Select your preferred calendar: Toggle between English Date (AD) and Nepali Date (BS) at the top of the calculator.
- Enter your Date of Birth: Use the date picker for AD or the dropdown menus for BS to input your exact birth date.
- Choose the calculation date: By default, it calculates your age as of today. You can uncheck "Today" to calculate your age on a specific past or future date.
Features of Our Age Calculator
Beyond just telling you how many years old you are, our tool provides a comprehensive breakdown of your life:
- Exact Age: See your age down to the exact year, month, and day.
- Time Lived: Discover the total number of days, weeks, and hours you have been alive.
- Next Birthday Countdown: Find out exactly how many days are left until your next birthday, along with the exact date in both AD and BS.
- Astrology Insights: Instantly see your Western Zodiac sign and your Chinese Zodiac animal based on your birth date.
- Life Milestones: See the exact dates when you turned (or will turn) 18 (voting age), 21, and 60 (standard retirement age).
Why Support Both AD and BS?
In Nepal, the Bikram Sambat (BS) calendar is used for all official government documents, citizenship certificates, and daily life. However, the international standard is the Anno Domini (AD) calendar. Many Nepalese people know their birthday in BS but need to calculate their age for international applications (like visas or university admissions) which require AD.
Our calculator automatically bridges this gap. When you enter your birthday in BS, it internally converts it to AD to perform accurate calculations, and even shows you the equivalent AD date as a helpful hint!
